The Atelier Celebrates its 2nd Year
At this time of the year, the Atelier celebrates its birthday, and I like to pause and look back, retracing all the moments that have passed, just like you would with a special relationship.
Because yes, I have a special relationship with the Atelier. I love this space, not only because it allows me to unleash my creativity and dedicate myself to what I enjoy, but also because it has proven to be the perfect way to meet people in the neighborhood and start feeling like an integral part of this community.
Every day here is different, just as the types of projects and collaborations we carry out are varied.
Internships in the workshop
This year, I had the pleasure of having Trine and Mia with me, who contributed in a special way to the growth of the Atelier with their skills and creativity during their internship.
Trine is a multi creative that loves to work with multiple fibres and materials, she knit, hand wave fabric, sew clothes and much more. (@creativeincopenhagen)
Mia is a talented and intuitive creative that can visualize and create accessories and clothing with incredible ease. (@miamillscornershop )

Sewing and Embroidery Skills Sharing
Vanessza and Paulina used the space to share, respectively, their knowledge of sewing and embroidery during beautiful classes.
Vanessza is a great tutor in terms of sewing clothing. She enjoys creating clothing from scratch and upcycling garments with her unique style. (@fvanessza)
Paulina is instead an embroidery lover that surprises everyone with her creations. She blends traditional techniques with modern ideas. (@tejeborda)

Totebags for
The Nomads and the Bean
Tote bags made from fabric sourced from thrift stores like Frelsens Hær or Røde kors were created for one of the most original cafés in the neighborhood, ‘Nomad and the Bean’ ( @nomadandbean ) .
The tote bags are sold in the cafè at a promotional price, to promote the use of the reusable bags instead of the paper or plastic ones, during the purchase of Mark’s local roasted coffee beans.

We Support Likeminded
A 5-meter-long train was created for the outfit of Camma Okami ( @camma_music ) , an emerging singer in the Danish music scene, for the Simbaprisen event.
Camma had important phrases printed on her outfit, addressing climate change, human rights, and discrimination, with the goal of encouraging influencers and content creators to use their platforms to talk more about these issues and have a positive impact on their audience.

Consultancy and Tutoring at DIS
Last year I had the pleasure to see a project I contributed to take shape.
In DIS Copenhagen, a group of educators dreamt to have a sewing workshop for the students, where they could sew, knit, repair, make and learn new techniques.
The Atelier offered a consultancy about what is necessary in order to have basic, but still functional, working space and give some intro classes to the educators about fabric, sewing machines and basic sewing.

In short, I am grateful of this second year, rich in interesting encounters, exciting projects, and with a great increase in the number of garments repaired.
