Circular Atelier is here to present a project realized for the second edition of the Alternative Fashion Week in Copenhagen.
This year’s chosen theme was ‘Circus’, because with its history filled with controversy, the circus exhibits intriguing similarities to today’s fashion industry, which often resembles a spectacle itself.
In this context, we realized an outfit that wants to recall a Bird, with a colorful plumage made out of beautiful cravats and pink tulle.
The top, which can also be interpreted as a necklace, is entirely made of second hand ties. Cravats nowadays are probably considered old fashioned, and in the second hand shop you can find baskets full of amazing silk ties, exceptionally manufactured, that completely have lost their values. From here the choice to use this kind of item: here they are brought back to new life with a great effect.
The skirt is made of two different skirts: the top one, made using a second-hand classic style upholstery fabric with pattern and underskirt where the 4 layers of tulle create the puffy effect. Thanks to the pleats on the top skirt, you can have a beautiful effect when you twirl around.
On the necklace, if you take a deep look, you will notice a little sculpture: it is a bird made out of wire and stones, handmaded for the occasion by the magic hands of Blagovesta Ivanova, that enjoy realizing beautiful jewelry with real gemstones.
