]]> The Project:Book Cover. What we need 

Fabric: For this project we will need 4 pieces of dimension 22×34 cm.
To make it look nicer it is recommended to use 2 different kind of fabrics that match. So it would be for 2 pieces 50×50 cm or on a unique piece 1 mt x50 cm. Preferably not stretch or silky fabric.

Button: a button for the closure. Not too small, but I recommend medium/big size and a small ribbon/cord to make the loop for the closure.

]]> First project – Book Cover

Fabric: For this project we will need 4 pieces of dimension 22×34 cm.

Fabric: the measurement are 45 x 30 cm, preferably a structured fabric, not too thin, like Cotton Canvas or Velvet.
Zipper: 25 or 30 cm – preferably a spiral in plastic, not metal or hard plast.

Third Project – Travel Headrest

Fabric: usually for this project I reuse second hand pillow cases with a measure of 40×40 cm. In alternative you can bring a piece of 80 x 40 cm. It can be velvet or cotton canvas. Preferably not stretch or silky fabric.
Zipper: 35 x 40 cm in a color that match.

Practical course in creative sewing, where participants explore various sewing machine functions through three different projects. The course includes hands-on practice with needle and thread, experimentation with different types of materials, and learning how to sew a zipper.

One of the main goals of the course is to gain a basic understanding of the sewing machine and learn how to troubleshoot common issues that may arise during use.

This course includes 4 classes, ones a week.

Content in detail

FIRST CLASS
Intro about fabrics:
– Different kinds of fabrics
– How the fabric is made and how to cut it right for your project.

The sewing machine, that mysterious tool.
Showcase of the basic functions and accessories.

Realization of a simple project – BOOK COVER
You will learn how to realize a book travel case, which includes the application of a button for the closure.

SECOND CLASS / Realization of a simple project – SQUARED POUCH
How to use the zipper foot and realization of a project that includes the application of a zipper, a pochette.

THIRD AND FOURTH CLASS / Realization of a simple project – HEADREST 
We use this time to finish previous projects if there is need and practice acquired skills with a new project, an headrest pillow for you travels.

Materials: we will provide samples of fabric, threads and tools. The fabric for the project is not included. In the “Additional Information” tab you can find some information about how much and which kind fabric you need for it. You are very welcome to reuse something you have at home or buy something you like. In alternative you can find something in the Atelier.

Equipment: You are very welcome to bring your own sewing equipment or use the one in the Atelier.

It can be very nice group activity.

The workshop will take place only with a minimum of 3 registered participants. If fewer registrations are received, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event.

Cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the workshop unfortunately cannot be refunded.
